Workshop – Secrets of Engraving

A printmaking workshop for the whole family, where young and old alike learn to appreciate the unique characteristics of this delicate art form. After a period of observation and exploration, each participant creates their own print and takes their creation home.

Young and old alike discover together an art form that is as delicate as it is surprising. After taking some time to observe and understand what makes a print, an image printed on paper from an engraved plate that can be reproduced in multiple copies, so magical, each participant takes turns learning the engraver’s craft.

Create Your Own Print

Thanks to this technique, people have been able to reproduce and disseminate images, and artists, from Dürer to Picasso, have made it a means of expression in its own right. Woodcut, intaglio, lithography, screen printing… there are many ways to work with a plate, whether made of wood, metal, or stone, and to apply ink to it.
After the introduction, it’s time to get hands-on: everyone creates their own print to take home. A creative and accessible experience for the whole family.
