My birthday at the Château de Chantilly

Château de Chantilly is launching a new birthday package for children ages 3 to 12: a spectacular celebration in the heart of an exceptional historic site.

Give them more than just a birthday party: give them an adventure at the château!

For 2.5 hours, children will immerse themselves in the fascinating world of Chantilly. They’ll explore the halls and gardens, take on challenges, discover extraordinary works of art, and then let their creativity run wild during a supervised art workshop.

The party continues with a snack served on-site in a privileged setting.

The package includes:

• a heritage-themed activity at the castle or in the park
• an art or craft workshop tailored to the children’s ages
• a festive snack served on-site

Typical Procedure

2:00–3:00 p.m.: Heritage tour at the castle or in the park

• Ages 3–6: Specially adapted tour

What a story these animals have!

Chantilly Castle is home to some amazing creatures: mischievous monkeys, majestic dragons, and fantastical chimeras. Come meet them and discover the wonderful stories behind each one. Finally, you can let your imagination run wild by drawing your own chimeras!

Explore paintings, sculptures, and stained-glass windows brimming with emotion. Joy, anger, fear, sadness, surprise, or pride: each work offers an opportunity to observe, recognize, and understand these feelings. A tour that’s both fun and thought-provoking—perfect for a first visit to the Condé Museum!

• Suggestion: “Draw Me a Portrait” Workshop

• Ages 6–12: Scavenger hunt (indoors or outdoors* depending on the season)

The Theft of the Pink Diamond

The pink diamond has disappeared… At the Château de Chantilly, time is running out! Get together with friends to investigate, follow a trail of clues, solve the puzzles, and explore the castle’s halls to find this missing gem. A thrilling scavenger hunt that turns young and old alike into real detectives, combining suspense, observation, and discovery.

Sylvie’s Secret

Participants set off through the park in search of the hiding place of the poet Théophile de Viau, who took refuge in Chantilly in the 17th century after his poems were censored for being deemed too bold. This puzzle-filled trail will invite them to explore the gardens, sculptures, and landscapes to find the poet’s hiding place and unravel the mystery of the enigmatic Sylvie

3:00–4:00 p.m.: Art and creativity workshop at Cabotière

The Ball of Colors

A fun introduction to the world of colors, where you’ll learn to identify them, mix them, and create together. Each participant will take home their own creation!

Draw me a portrait

Discover the portrait genre in a fun way. As you look at the paintings and sculptures at the Musée Condé, think about the elements that make up a face, the models’ poses, and how princes and princesses are depicted in the museum’s collections. In the workshop, using watercolor pencils and markers, explore the human form and body proportions before creating your own creative and fun portrait.

• Ages 6–12

Illuminated Hours

Set out to discover the precious manuscripts preserved in the collections of the Château de Chantilly. After admiring the ornate lettering, colors, and ancient motifs, visitors will be introduced to a centuries-old craft in the workshop. There, they will create their own illuminated manuscript, combining skill and imagination, in the tradition of the château’s exceptional manuscripts.

Apprentice modeler

Just like the great sculptors whose works are featured in the Condé Museum’s collections, create a clay bust, paying close attention to the proportions of the face and its various features. Shape your creation in the workshop and take your sculpture home with you as a unique souvenir of your visit.

4:00–4:30 p.m.: Birthday party at Cabotière

The birthday party and the opening of presents bring the celebration to a close in a joyful and friendly atmosphere. Drinks, treats, and decorations are carefully prepared to give the children a truly festive experience, without any hassle for the families. The birthday cake, brought by the parents of the birthday child, is the highlight of this festive occasion.
