An exceptional site at the heart of an ambitious project
Voted France’s favorite monument in 2025, the Château de Chantilly is home to an exceptionally ambitious cultural, economic, and heritage project, faithful to the humanist and philanthropic vision of the Duke of Aumale. At the crossroads of art, nature, history, and celebration, the château is a unique complex in France, designed from the outset as a legacy to be passed on.

Major advances already underway
The last few years have been a turning point for the Château de Chantilly. Significant progress has been made in restoring the built heritage, collections, and gardens, as well as in structuring the economic model. The estate is now financially self-sufficient and welcomes nearly 600,000 visitors a year, confirming its appeal and its role as a major cultural site.
These achievements provide a solid foundation for approaching the future with clarity and ambition.
A legacy to be upheld, in accordance with the will of the Duke of Aumale
The challenge now is to keep this legacy for the future alive, relevant, and accessible, while fully respecting the will of the Duke of Aumale, which imposes both high conservation standards and a commitment to sharing with as many people as possible. The aim is to reconcile heritage transmission, cultural innovation, and environmental responsibility in a context of significant economic and climatic constraints.
The “Chantilly 2030” strategy: a clear roadmap
The strategic plan “Chantilly 2030 – a legacy for the future” sets out a structured path based on four complementary areas, designed to address the major challenges facing the estate.
Axis I – Welcoming, attracting, and retaining audiences
The first pillar of the strategy, visitor services, aims to improve the visitor experience, develop cultural, event-based, and immersive offerings, and enhance the site’s accessibility. The goal is to broaden and retain audiences by promoting all aspects of the estate: the château, museums, Grandes Écuries stables, park, forest, and equestrian art.
Axis II – Restoring and safeguarding heritage
Preserving architectural, museum, forest, and living heritage is a core mission of the Château de Chantilly. Faced with considerable investment needs, the “Chantilly 2030” strategy prioritizes health emergencies, reinforces the scientific excellence of museums, and takes exemplary action to protect the forest, a veritable open-air laboratory in the face of climate change.
Axis III – Diversify and increase resources
To ensure its long-term future, the château must consolidate and diversify its resources. This involves developing commercial revenue streams, strengthening sponsorship, promoting the Château de Chantilly brand, and exploring new resources, particularly those related to the forest and real estate assets. The objective is clear: to provide sustainable financing for the investments essential to the conservation of the site.
Axis IV – Renovating the operating model
Finally, the “Chantilly 2030” strategy affirms the need for an efficient, exemplary, and responsible public operating model. Modernization of governance, strengthened budgetary control, ecological transition, well-being at work, and the safety of property and people are the pillars of this transformation.
An ambition focused on the future
Designed as a strategic guideline, the “Chantilly 2030” initiative aims to ensure the sustainability of the Château de Chantilly, affirm its uniqueness, and strengthen its regional, national, and international influence.
